ABOUT

Growing up in the Australian countryside, Kwasi developed a unique relationship with his creative process, finding solace and belonging within his craft (Clash, 2024). Described as 'alt rap,' Kwasi's music is driven by creativity and raw storytelling. Immersed in skateboard, film and music culture from an early age, his lyrics and production reflect a deep admiration for the hip-hop, punk and indie genres.

Kwasi has honed his distinctive sound through collaborations with various artists, such as Congrats (Ben Stewart of Slowly Slowly) on the 2022 release Self Sabotage, produced by Hamley. The track draws upon raw emotions, encapsulating Kwasi’s thrash aesthetic. His 2018 song Aura Glow, featuring Allday and Gracelands, pushed artistic boundaries and earned streaming accolades across Spotify and Apple Music.

2023 saw the release of Ready to Go and POISON, both receiving airplay on triple j, with Anika Luna praising, "Don't know what I was expecting from this single but holy moly this is great! Kwasi is charged up and packs a punch!" These singles marked a pivotal moment in Kwasi's career, sparking demand in the UK and the Philippines. This led to performances in Hackney, Brighton, Manila, and Cebu — with support from radio stations Y101FM and Magic Manila.

Following his international performances, Kwasi released his 2024 single LIT!, produced by Sydney native Tasker (credits: Huskii, Danté Knows, and Gold Fang). The single gained traction in the UK market with support from Clash Magazine and Earmilk, further cementing Kwasi's rising global presence. Q1 of 2025 has brought about the release of single Motions, landing him a feature in Apple Music’s ‘New in HipHop’ playlist, marking the first release of the year from his upcoming debut Album Outstanding MISFIT.
